Shortened language names

Why are some of the language’s names shortened in places such as the code section? (Why would c++ be cpp and c# be cs, they have the same amount of letters?)

To save space? Sometimes it's easier to remember the acronyms than the whole name.

And Py for Python. Some names are too long to display. Maybe if it isn’t shortened, Javascript will be displayed like jav... and... using cs instead of c# is better probably because letters are more beautifully displayed than symbols?
