How to draw a line on html5 canvas and to display its length on endpoint of that line which is drawn

I have a image in a canvas. I need to draw a line and find its length and display it. Found start point and endpoint of a line using mouse down and mouse up events using javascript.distance between these points can be calculated, but it is pixel value. I need to got it in mm. When I tried to do this I got a value which is very lower than the actual value.. please some one help me to sort out this..
