This is not Facebook.....

I just wanted to suggest that we ensure posts are related to coding and programming rather than the endless jokes and random attention seeking questions and quotes that don't really help anyone. this forum should be a salon of useful information and not somewhere we need to filter through the rubbish...we have so many other social media platforms for that, lets not do the same to SoloLearn...

Hey guys, great discussion! Since you asked, thought will share what we here at SoloLearn think :) We believe that professional discussion and fun are equally important for great learning experience. Yet, when one gets in the way of the other, it can certainly get destructive :) So we are working on separating the two... Stay tuned for updates!

THERE IS NO TIME TO JOKE! The future is up for grabs. Net Neutrality is at risk again and Silicon Valley might be seeking refuge from Trump in Canada. If you want to play a significant role in disrupting and re-shaping the future, you will need to know AIML, Angular2, Javascript, PHP, HTML6, Python, Data Mining, Deep Learning and Predictive Analysis, UNITY, Adobe CC (Premier, Affter Effects, Muse), Node.js, Perl, YAML, XML, iMacros, Swift, Fortran, Numpy, Hadoop, Tensorflow, mobile rooting, Penetration Testing and ethical hacking, marketing automation, Content Syndication, and developing Blockchain API and Bitcoin apps. You will need a sound understanding of monetization methods (Facebook Audience Network and Livestream), Youtube Red Live Streaming and all of the B2B policies and regulations, as well as how Smart Contracts work. And you WILL need to know all of this just to feel some sense of balance when the Data Tech takesover IT and IoT and you have to start from scratch creating your own language to better solve the new Big Data Machine Learning related needs all businesses will have that are emerging as we speak, but that also presents incredible opportunities for you to make a meaningful impact. THERE IS NO TIME TO JOKE, because you don't have enough time to learn all of that. JUST CODE.

@MrCoder Its more the frequency of the irrelevant posts in comparison to the helpful ones...im not against having fun but the ratio is getting a bit out of hand imo

Whose fault is this? It's SoloLearn's fault for either coming up with a meaningless badge to come up with a question of 100 upvotes or for being lenient towards the behaviors of the users in this Q&A. I agree that this place is for Questions and Answers, not Jokes and Reactions.

They should also have a suggestion section, where users vote on unique suggestions to improve the app. And the devs let users know which ones they're working on.

I saw this quote at SoloLearn's blog: "Knowledge is having the right answer. Intelligence is asking the right question!" I totally agree with you @steven. I think some people are just trying to unlock badges rather than learning, they are not even looking in the Q&A before posting a question, so there are so many duplicated. Some even copy others' questions. I just hope this platform keeps evolving instead of going backwards in terms of information's quality ☺

@MrCoder There's a place for fun, there's a place for learning. You wanna know what will happen to you if you post jokes in stackoverflow? They'll make you not dare to come back.

Agreed! Recently, number of posts with jokes is increasing. And, such posts are shown on the home screen multiple times. That should not happen. Anyways, suggestions must be encouraged.

Most questions are just people repeating the exact same questions over and over anyway... How many questions are there about pre-increment and post-increment? At least jokes aren't so repetitive! ^_^

You are absolutely right. We are programmers. We should make it a good like Stack Overflow by posting our doubts relates to programming or something related to it or SoloLearn app.(Or better than it.)

Yes.That's what I realized too. Many a times people here post unusual and useless questions only to get upvotes even if they knew the answer. Apart from it loose talkings is one of the critical issues. I'm totally against it. Make SoloLearn Great Again!! ☝
