How much time should I dedicate to coding each day?
Hi everyone, I have recently started learning how to code. In December, I have applied to do a full stack development course which will cover HTML, CSS and JavaScript. This will be every Saturday for 16 weeks. I am teaching myself how to code a little earlier than this to give myself a head start. The issue is I work full time and am limited time-wise with how much I can dedicate to coding on a daily basis (hence I downloaded this app to make the most of commutes and lunch breaks). I am not expecting to be a master coder in a short period of time, but I want to dedicate enough time to the skill for it to be worth it. Will one hour a day, plus 6 hours every Saturday at the coding class be a good goal for teaching myself coding?

It depends on how hard the topic , you can code whenever you want if you get tired take a rest then code again, if coding is your passion you don't need to count how many hours a day you need to code. Instead count the outcome of your hardwork and the happiness that brings while coding. đđ

Ask yourself, how much time you can spend by coding...
It's really good to code whenever you get free time.đ

Hi Lex đ, yes, that is good idea to keep learning every day for at least 1 hour. Just keep learning.... and don't forget that practice makes it perfect!

I think quantity is relative. I prefer quality. I mean you can code one hour every day, but will come a day which you can't code because you have not learnt commands that you need, for example. Try to code a range of half hour - one hour, or one hour - two hours, to get your objective, because every day will be different.
Even you can select your objective in SL. But it counts codding, learning and social.

As much as you can.

I would say complete 2-3 lessons then try to practice it in the code playground in one day. Do that for a week or two, then if you are still interested do a little more each day. Once you are beginning to feel a little confident in your knowledge in a language, start some challenges with it.

Do it all day

5 hours a day

It's up to you and I would think it depends on what else you do in a day. Obviously, the more time you spend, the better you will get.

Hi lex it all depends on you..If you think you can be consistent with one hour, then you're good.
Its better to use one hour everyday than to use 5 hours today and nothing tomorrow..My point is "Consistent is the key"

Well practice makes perfect
So dedicate as much time as necessary to learn and understand
Never try to rush lessons, take you time and more so make it interesting so u don't easily get bored and tired.
Practice and challenge friends.

I'd say one hour is good. Once you miss a few days or so you might find yourself forgetting some stuff. So even an hour a day is significantly better than nothing. Consistency is key :) hope this helps!

If you can't find time then make time
Examples:
1.While you are eating
2.While you are in toilet
3.Before going to sleep
4.Waking up early
