Is taking peoples codes allowed?

I noticed that a ton of people are stealing my trending codes and either adding their name or just making them public. I honestly dont care if someone wants to use my code as a base for their own project, but some of these just changed my name to their name: https://code.sololearn.com/WK6kw5IJxJ7x/?ref=app https://code.sololearn.com/W5qGUBcU3Rnb/?ref=app https://code.sololearn.com/WvrBSTyJzvx7/?ref=app https://code.sololearn.com/W5SLRM9N6a39/?ref=app https://code.sololearn.com/W7vz03z5PVQy/?ref=app https://code.sololearn.com/WyI4kACvQmWq/?ref=app https://code.sololearn.com/WQ6i01oKn7K8/?ref=app My question is: is that allowed?

So long as they provide the proper credits I think it should be okay. Maybe possibly up to the author too if they are uncomfortable with people copying their codes wholesale.

Gʜ₀ᴢ₇ Sᴇᴄ Im working on something I can add to my codes that will make it difficult to remove my signature from them. It won't be invincible but it will prevent lots of users from trying to show the code is theirs without going through alot of trouble to try and remove my name from it.

Jayden LeCorps be proud! Not everyone's code get copied . Only the truly great one are interesting to be copied. That means your codes are just too great that people want to copy it for themselves.

Jayden LeCorps we are always finding these copy cat codes even back in the legacy codes from 2 years ago, codepen codes, and from other sources. Unfortunately the more coders and codes that drop and the harder it is to catch all. The community at large needs to be more vigilant as well as we ourselves have to be more cautious ... There should be a better way to protect our codes but even MIT licenses are not perfect once the code is displayed public

Shaziya yes it is permitted to save but people abuse the idea to save as to publish it as their work attempting to strip away the validity of the original author's credits and that intent is stealing... especially when there is little attempt at creating something on their own after studying...

There is a safe with one million dollars in it. This safe is not in a bank or somewhere with guards. The safe is in a public park. It has no password and its door is always open. Our question is: Is taking people's money and properties allowed with this situation? If you think it is not allowed so what are passwords created for? what is privacy introduced for? They are shared in public!!! I know... I am NOT support unethical acts. You are right in a side. But on the other side blame yourself cuz you shared some your assets in public.(no offence and take it as a friendly conversation.)

As far as I know, SoloLearn doesn't give us the option of marking a code as favorite, yet it gives the option of saving the code of someone else... I believe that this is the problem in some cases.

Personally, I copy/save and learn a ton from you guys, but would never repost code publicly on SoloLearn and pass off as my own. There's nothing for me to gain. That, as my toddler would say, is a 'ding-dong' thing to do.

I also did it once. I had accidentally saved a hot today code as mine, which was gone public.

It could probably be just someone who just really likes the code and wants to show it off, but they should at least give you credit for the code, if they don't, then the best thing to do would be reporting those people to the moderators of course, plagiarism shouldn't be accepted, not even on open source!!

If you want to learn it yoirself it is okay. But if you just act like the owner of the code you'll just waste your time and creativity. I take courses and to create projects watch others code and learn how something is done. Then I take those ideas from courses I learned and projects as example and apply them my own way. Thats where you get into trouble which makes you a coder and thats where actual learnimg starts.
