I Use Lenovo laptop,IdeaPad 100 and it runs on Windows 8.Why can't I download Python...each time I download and try running the program,the laptop reponds..."not supported"...remember I have tried all the versions py2 and py3,all for Widows

Where are you downloading it from? What are the error messages?

How much memory and which CPU does your computer have? Also, are you trying to run a python file?

Sao Paulo Odhiambo That sounds like a problem for Windows 8. It's most likely not compatible.

Pycharm is a completely seperate program, I dont remember if it includes Python rodwynnejones

? Does pycharm rely on python from 'python.org' to work or is a completely separate program? if it doesn't, try pycharm then.

Sao Paulo Odhiambo You might have to install Python as well. But I can't remember since I have only installed it once šŸ˜ž

have you try the x86 version ? the only other reason i can think of is your os. could be missing updates or the installation itself.

i thought win 8 user get free update to win 8.1 ? rodwynnejones no, thats an IDE it still rely on python installation

i mean the error message, what part is "not supported" ? my wild guess is the computer architecture, 64bit program in 32bit enviroment. but as i said its a wild guess.
