To make technology work, to make technology purposes, whatever they could be (entertainment, help with work, do the work, etc.)
Technology is complemented with programs, and programming purpose is to make that programs

If you think about embedded devices, you're able to turn switches fast and control currents with them.
So hopefully programmers are also able to save the world.
