You can also use Anaconda distribution with Spyder (IDE). It comes with many, many external modules ready to use. https://www.spyder-ide.org/

Visual Studio Code and Sublime Text 3. Unlike Visual Studio, Visual Studio Code has a MAC and Linux version, so itā€™s still usable on non-windows systems.

First I used nano. Simple, but too much simple. Than I used pycharm. Its like a cockpit. Try it. Maybe it something for you. Geany is a try worth. Its simple, but navigate via courser and all about copy/past is much better than nano. Atm I use geany.

I use Eric6 or/and Visual Studio Code. Eric6 can be consodered like a classic IDE. It is integrated with pyQT.
