The differences in coding languages

My brother knows python and im doing a ruby course and everything I tell him he says he did it in python. I know im only starting ruby but im still confused

Bungee Squid basics of programming is same for all languages but the difference lies in syntax and compilation/interpretation process of your code so be it Ruby or python just like Alexandr said we can do same task on different languages
