Any one from the community works as a coder? I just want to know how much do you code in a day or week?

In most IT companies it is expected from you to code/work for about 6 hours in a normal 8 hour shift. But ofc usually you work less then that :) , unless its a short deadline.

It depends on your job, but I work for about eight hours a day for five days weekly and actual coding isn't what I do most of the time. It depends on your tasks and area of responsibility as well. So mainly I work writing our server SDK, but I can fix errors and it takes time researching the error, trying to reproduce it, etc. And if you do actually write the code, you are usually thinking at least three times more than you type it. Can't say about the average Joe in any country, but it's more or less like that: you research, you read, then you think, and only then you type in the code, then possibly write unit-tests, run them on your code. And if you do any language that needs a compilation, you wait for it to finish, and sometimes it's hours of time. :) So you're not actually 24/7 typing the text and drinking coffee.
