Materialize (css framework) doesn't work

Question

I'm trying Materialize for the first time, i've pasted the cdn link for both css and js in the document and tried some components. while the style it's applied to the document, the js isn't for some reason. if i try to past a carousel in the document for example, it doesn't work. i've also pasted the script in the section 'initialize', but i can't still find what am i doing wrong
