Prevent duplicate symbols

Question

Is there a way to prevent the app from putting in an extra quotation, parenthesis when writing code? When I'm inserting one of those symbols, the app will automatically create two instead of one. I understand the purpose of it generating two at a time, but is there an option to not have that happen?

It's a little hard to write a codes with this app
