What are the differences between .jar and .apk?

Hi, I am quite new in programming and unfortunately curious about many things. I just found out that .jar and .apk both uses Java. I have decompiled some jar and apk files and read the source codes. Though, I didn't understand most of the lines but I found similarities between both. Now, what are the key differences btween jar and apk?
