Python is very good programming language to learn as a first programming language of any beginner programmer because it is a high level language so it is easy to write and read. And after python I think ok you should go for low level language like C , C++, Java , .net , etc.
But please don't get influenced by the word high level because low level languages has its own advantages.

There is no exact answer to your question.Both are interrelated and have equal importance .I am more towards AI because i have been working on AI projects since 14. I suggest you to read articles and decide it by yourself both have good scope in the future
