Math and statistics are quite fundamental to data science, but they might as well be taught as part of btech curriculum. I think you can't go wrong with either choice you mentioned. It could be more important to choose based on the reputation of the institution (university / college).

I don't know about the state of things in your country but generally, I think a CS degree is much better than a degree in AI only.
