May someone please tell me what getting a job in programming was like for them?

I want to get a job in programming. One of my questions is what was the interview like? What tasks did you have to do one you were hired? How much do you think you was important for you to know for your entry-level job in programming? How long did it take you to acquire the skills you know now? I want to self-learn instead of go to a university. Would you recommend that? What did you do?

you're at the right place. learn for free with a great and powerful community. get certified. get coding. get that job. the interviews usually focus on problem solving rather than code as you use code to solve a problem. the hardest question I ever got was a riddle. would you like to see it and try solving it?

Yeah, I'd honestly love that, thank you. The community is great, there are a lot of people that are passionate on this app about programming. I finished the C++ course and now I am going to review the course and really try to comprehend how the Object Oriented Programming works. Like I know enough to make a normal class, a base class and derived class, and an abstract class, but I get stuck towards polymorphism and template classes. Also I want to understand it more because I know OOP is a major part of programming as a whole. After that, I want to self learn using a book I have and a list I made listing topics I should focus on to get a job. I'm currently in my junior year of high school, so I have a lot of time to make my decision/learn programming. Doing softwre design and being a game pogrammer are both fine with me. I'm definitely interested in both. Can you please explain examples of projects you were working on while applying for your job? Also how long did it take you to get to your level where you felt comftorable to go for an interview?
