Not really. It depends on what you want to make concretely. My last project was an incremental game that I wrote on WPF (C#). I understood that that platform is not really good for games, but in my case that's okay, anyway.

You can either do in Virtual Studio or in Unity. Well, Unity basically uses Virtual Studio only for C# coding, but you can select something else also from the Dev tools.
