What is the proper studying path to become an expert in artificial intelligence and robotics?

I want to be an expert in artificial intelligence and robotics but i don't know what should I study or where to start

Robotics tends to coded in C/C++. AI tends to be coded in Python unless curcumstances are unusual. Learn how to use one of these languages then perhaps buy an Arduino kit for robotics (which uses its own language, but it seems similar to C++) or a textbook for Machine Learning
