How can I implement single sign on?

Question

I have multiple sites and would like to create a single sign on (SSO) for all the accounts. Just like Google uses account.google.com for all its multiple Web applications.
I want to create an independent SSO not social media or Google sign on.

Any assistance would be great.

Unless you provided a really large and popular community, nobody else will accept your sign-on. For your own applications you can easily connect your authentication module with your master page (you'll have to select one and you'll have to migrate already existing accounts over there). Just a backend topic.
