Someone to explain to me about the drop-down menus?

I made a menu, which I saw in a tutorial, which explained how to make one of these menus, without using jquery/javascript, but from what I see, the transition animation, did not go very well, the question I have is: What advantages and disadvantages there are in using only css or only jquery for this type of menus, which is easier to use?, which is more recommended?, Can you make such menus only with java script? Ahh and I would be very grateful if you would send me simple examples to be able to understand this from the menus, whether it's examples with only css, or.... with jquery, if you can do it with javascript, I would still appreciate an example of this.. Hahaha I'm new to this css and javascript thing, just if I used the jquery library ever.. https://code.sololearn.com/WthxHsqRyl6e/?ref=app

Well, I can answer your question saying that js allows you to have a more dinamically Web page, more flexible and you can have a more optimice code that only uses css and html, jquery it's more for big and complex projects... But I recommend learn javascript, it's a whole world to explore and learn, and has the possibility to work OOP
