What do you mean by back link? Is it a link that redirects to previous page? or some other section in same page?

Niki , There are two ways to improve search rank of your site.
- SEO
- SEM

Search Engine Optimization is unpaid way to improve ranking.
- You need to focus on semantics of your site. Now this is vast topic. Using relevant words, providing description for images, Structuring pages in standard format, Using meta information in pages, Providing quality content , Reducing loading time. A lot is there to do! It's not in scope of this answer.

- If your site uses dynamic content through JS it's better to use server side rendering. (Google crawlers can rank pages even of you don't use SSR but some search engines are not so good in doing that)

Search Engine Marketing is paid method. Your site is shown up as an ad in search, but it needs to be relevant to what user is trying to search. You pay for keywords. When one searches using those keywords your site is shown as ad.

Neither SEO nor SEM are magical tricks to get your site on top overnight. You need to keep improving your site and it takes time.
