Faulty website login page redirect

Question

I have a membership portal that needs login details before any part of the portal is seen. The problem is the redirect doesn't always work. And even at logout, it stays on the last page on which the user was viewing before logout. I used WordPress for this. Please I need to fix this

1. Clearing Browser Cookies and Cache
2. Restoring Default .htaccess file
3. Deactivating Themes and Plugins
