What is the difference between <sub> and <sup> ?

The sub tag makes the text inside of it be subscripted (like the number of a specific atom in an molecule name, like O2, where the 2 should be subscripted)
The sup tag is used for the same, but superscripted (like the exponent of a mathematical power)
