Do you mean a text editor, or a browser? For text editors, I advise you to play around with them. You'll eventually find your own favorite editors, rather than using only what other people tell you to use. All the other suggestions are good, but just play around with them. As for browsers to test your code, you should be testing your code (if you go professional) on as many browsers and platforms as you can, to make sure everyone has a good experience visiting your websites :)
