I'm not sure if it was intentional, but when I checked the div.modal.style.display, it's empty string. Idk but maybe the modal needs to be shown using jQuery

Ipang you are right , I was going through bootstrap website where it was showing modals when a button was clicked but this one didn't had anything like that, anyway after going through the modal class I found out that it was set to display none and adding custom class with display block works fine.
