Tips for people starting with data analysis (visualising data,...)

I am working in the financial services industry but want to learn to work with data (so i’m learning Python and SQL). Beside the coding I’m learning to work with platforms like Microsoft power BI for visualising data. In september i’m following a course data & analytics at a nearby college... Anyone got other tips(books, podcasts, youtube channels,...)?

That's a great start — you're already on the right track by learning Python, SQL, and Power BI. Pairing that with a formal Data & Analytics course in September will solidify your foundation. Books Storytelling with Data – really useful for visualizing with Power BI. Data Science for Business – gives you the “why” behind data techniques. Python for Data Analysis – great if you're getting serious with pandas. Podcasts Data Skeptic – quick, interesting episodes on data and ML. Not So Standard Deviations – good mix of technical + real-world stories. YouTube Channels Alex The Analyst – covers everything from SQL to dashboarding. Ken Jee – career tips and project breakdowns. Luke Barousse – beginner-friendly and fun. Extra Tip: Before your college course starts in September, maybe explore a short online module or project. Some people I know found Uncodemy’s hands-on courses quite practical especially if you're into project-based learning. You’re already ahead by learning core tools early. Keep experimenting with small projects (finance dashboards, data cleaning tasks, etc.) and enjoy the journey. It’s a rewarding field once you build momentum
