Please explain to me clearly what machine learn is

I am a computer science student. And I want to go in the field of artificial intelligence and learn more about machine learning. Someone explain me little bit :). In particular, what programming language should I use and what cases should I start working on?

the most popular languges for machine learning and ai is r and python. from what i can tell r is a little more popular than python when it comes to machine learning, but i could be wrong.
as for what is machine learning and ai, it is at its most simplest form using math to predict an outcome. you have to learn about identifying the appropriate fields, standardizing/normalizing data, and then find the appropriate method/math equation. the easiest algorithm is linear regression. there are other types of algorithms that are much more complicated and each type of algorithm has its own purpose.
sololearn has some data science and machine learning courses, youtube, and other free resources are available. if you have some extra cash, udemy has some good courses, microsoft and amazon has data science and machine learning certificates. i know microsoft offers free training and has several cases on machine learning and ai as well.
im sure others here will have good input for you as well.
