Only speaking from my own experience here, so don't take it at face value.
TL;DR, Sometimes there are degrees online, but only with accredited schools. Also, you don't really have to have a degree.
Typically the only certificates, diplomas, or degrees that are of any value come from accredited schools. Granted, you can probably enroll in an online course at a decent school, that is possible.
However, you can't expect to magically receive anything useful from online tutorials or courses, as none are actually accredited.
That said, you can learn a great deal from these sites, and can help you build a portfolio and gain experience in programming, which is valuable when it comes to interviews.
