Well an easier way to understand this is how we humans have different languages, so does a computer. Different words could have the same meaning. Do you see where im coming from here?

Yeah that's what I was thinking. So in French you say "Bonjour" and in English you say "Hello." But they both mean the same. It's the same with coding languages. They can all do similar things, they've just been made to understand different vocabulary for example in Python you say print("hello") to print hello, and in Java and say Ruby, it's different again. Often their for specific different things - I find Java is best for graphic design such as web design and games. It's all about choosing a language your comfortable with. Java and Python are two good ones for beginners, as it's pretty simply stuff, although it can get complicated. It's important to try all different ones to get a feel for what's out there, though. Hope that helped.
