Math Questions!

Question

Why there are a lot of math questions in the python challenge like 1 or 2 of the challenge are about math
I hate those questions as I am a programmer not a mathematician!
Also it would take time to solve the equation!
In addition I have lost most challenges as it requires some math calculating..

Programming usually involves some math, so some challenges require a little math knowledge.

Keep practicing! The challenge questions are designed to learn quick skimming of code snippets. The more familiar you get with Python, the easier it will become!

As I tried to explain, the purpose is "to develop a fast overview/ intuition" – that's why the time is limited

When both users completed the challenge, you can see the tasks and the correct answers if you click on the text below the table of who answered which question correctly

I know that but still it needs time, the purpose of challenges to analyse the question and understand them not memorize the answer

Let me add some remarks to Lisa's comments, upon its content I agree.

I am a mathematician. So, let us call those "math questions" what they really are: routine calculations (I do not like to use the word mathematics (or math) for that, since it is just such an extremely small fraction of all mathematics).

It may sounds boring, but as you have experienced you need these routine calculations.

However, they can provide much more than just the solution to some problem. Simply thinking about them on a deeper level (why can I exchange the order in a + b without effecting the result? What are those things called Integers, really? Where does this or that formula actually come from? Can I understand the validity of a given formula on an intuitive level?) develops your brain in a significant manner: It sharpens your analytical skills and takes your abstract thinking to a new level (just to name a few). Surely, those traits are useful for life in general.

This is in fact true for all mathematics.

So, even if you consider yourself a programmer, doing mathematics will benefit you in the long run (independently which direction you choose to go).
