If you are not able to solve such a simple problem then you should revise the Python course cuz after completing the project your real progress will be virtually zero... Suppose when you go to eat you give a tip 20% of the bill amount meant that if the bill amount is 100 then 20% of 100 is 20 then the tip is 20. Take the bill amount as 'x', multiply it by 1/5 (as for calculating 20% you will multiply the number by 20/100 that is 1/5) and output the tip. Simple!

Your explanation is right but your problem is with the syntax. Sololearn provides full tutorials on how to do that. I recommend that you first look through the course again. Creating variables, accepting input Sololearn has it all

When you go out to eat, you always tip 20% of the bill amount. But who’s got the time to calculate the right tip amount every time? Not you that’s for sure! You’re making a program to calculate tips and save some time. Your program needs to take the bill amount as input and output the tip as a float. Sample Input 50 Sample Output 10.0

Explanation: 20% of 50 is 10. To calculate 20% of a given amount, you can multiply the number by 20 and divide it by 100: 50*20/100 = 10.0
