Why can I not save Notepad++ files in program files?

Question

I have attempted to save a notepad++ file in program files and am met with an error stating that i do not have permission to save in that area and to contact the administrator despite having only one account on this machine.

I have saved the file in a separate location but when I do when I attempt to run the file, i cannot find it when the pop-up asks me to select which file I want to run.

specify another path to save your file that you have permission to.
Think about a linux distro. With sudo, comes responsibilities though

You most likely use windows, so open Notepad++ as an admin or move the file location

I have opened it as administrator and it still comes up with the same error. How would I go about moving the file location??
