once u start using one, you can get used to it. I know atom is good and free but I'm hooked on sublime text. plus I know many shortcuts that make my life easier. bottom line, all depends on your preferences. in my opinion :
1. Sublime text
2. Atom
3. Brackets....

oh if you're new, try notepad for a while. it will make you remember stuff. and maybe irritate you in the process. but it's worth it

well, I've switched to VS Code. with terminal and git integration, I'm loving the editor. it's easy to customize and you can even import key map from your usual editor like sublime, atom...
