What exactly you don't understand, basics can be lot of things.
Please tag language (I see you start learning Java, this language can be little hard for beginner because of syntax), also tag lesson.

Many people here will help you to understand topic.

We learn the most by making mistakes, and by building projects.

Edit: If you don't know something it is totally fine to check how others solve same problem, like checking codes, watching tutorials...
This is all part of learning process.

For a high level overview of most of the common concepts you'll need to know, study the course "NAND to Tetris". It's available online for free; the video materials are on YouTube; most of the book is provided on the website as an abridged version.

For most other questions, w3schools is an excellent resource that can answer them.
