I am personally not involved that much in AI industry, and I do not want to misguide you. Things of essence I guess are statistics, vector calculus / calculus of functions in many variables, linear algebra.

Python is a good language to model AI, or so I heard. A solid language may be good for actual implementation. Also, python comes with a large ecosystem of libraries for AI, get to know these.

Read books about AI and statistical learning, everything you can get your hands on...

To become an AI developer, you should have a solid foundation in computer science, mathematics, and statistics.

Steps Involved:
1. Learn Programming Languages
like Java, Python, C++, R, Julia
but Python is mostly used..

6. Reinforcement Learning

these are basic steps but later you will have to learn more as per the category of AI development

I would recommend you to start with Tensorflow in Python.
