Also wondering if anyone has any suggestions on how to learn coding let me know as I’m currently doing this app and about to start cs50 introduction to programming with python course. I don’t really have much of a goal I just think it would be fun to learn and try do interesting things with.

you got answer almost for everything. when students asked some of our professors at the university: "how can I learn programming?", they replied: "practice, practice, practice, and practice!" (1 hour daily, on weekends 2 hours: this is just a minimum) so: learn by practice. if you do the same practice next day, don't worry about it, you will know better how to do it :-) and after you are ready to help for the totally beginners.... here you have some great python learning paths. do them all :-)
