I'm not a Mac person but I see many of my colleagues with them.

If you can afford to, prefer something that can at least have the CPU and RAM upgraded or is naturally overpowered like a Mac with an M1 or better CPU. Upgradeability is uncommon at best nowadays except for Framework laptops for $1k+, ASUS ROG laptops, and some others IDK because I don't keep up as I can't even afford a Chromebook. Lol.
