It's not a good idea to camper​ languages without knowing the task.
U will always find advantages over the other as they are developed to cater different needs.
Even u take one perticuler area like web the Language(technology/Language stack) will depend on what u tring to build.

Because of my heavy use of Linux I (opinion) feel python is the best. I think most used is gong to be as mentioned above.
