c++ is good for it also but      Learn how to install Windows and Linux. Use VirtualBox or VMware to           practice this.
·         Learn networking concepts like IP address, subnets, TCP/IP, OSI model,           LAN,WAN
·         Functions of switch, router, firewall, access point etc
·        What is DNS, DHCP, SNMP, ARP, NAT?
·         What is HTTP, FTP, Telnet, RDP, SSH, POP, SMTP, SSL, NetBios

programming and hacking are not really the same

Languages are building blocks of application to program. To hack or make secure system one should must find that system weakness first by penetration testing. You can use Linux like Kali that provides lots of tools to perform such kind of testing. After finding their loop fall, one should use his Programming skills to hack system as well find ways to make them secure more.
