Studies have shown that lyricless music improves efficiency, while regular music degrades efficiency. So, for mindless computing and such, anuthing'll do. But, for that dwwp thought necessary for some prpgrams, instrumentals are really nice. If that's not enough, listening to white noise with good, noise-cancelling headphones or earbuds enables you to entirely focus.
