Anyone else who experienced this?
When telling people that I'm studying computer science or learning programming as a girl I sometimes get strange reactions like; "Wow, isn't that really hard as a girl?" "Aren't you the only girl there?" "Do the boys help you with it?" "Wow, I thought you would be studying something like medicine or languages ..." We have lots of girls on our faculty, we're not exactly totally outnumbered by boys. So to every girl who is trying to pursue a career in these things, stay strong and believe in yourself!

I studied IT and I actually was the only girl in my semester. All guys were really nice and just wanted to learn with me :)

Sure, I'm just trying to tell girls to don't feel discouraged by these reactions :)
I'd totally support a guy in cheerleading ;D

im a guy but ill be honest with you, its because youre in a male dominated field.
just like when a guy says that he does cheerleading, everybody asks those same questions.
but at the end of the day, as long as you write good code thats all that matters.

I'm not a girl lol, but I have been questioned on "Is it hard?" or "You must be so smart!"
But in reality, there is no limit to your mind. The only thing that's limiting you is yourself. People who say they "can't" do something say that because they don't really want to know it, they just kind of do. You need to put in hard work and you'll get hard work back. Don't give up on it.

I get the same thing. The owner at work heard I was learning coding and told me that's men's work and I should go learn to cook.
I know how to cook thank you very much, I wish to challenge my brain, not further a stereotype
