I want to practice my knowledge and programming skills while also contributing to something concrete , projects are important when it comes to applying for any internships or jobs and so it would help in that aspect too !

If you know someone with a small business, make a site for them...or you could pick something you like and create a site that explains it. Start with html, make it responsive, then try to pull content dynamically from a database. Do it in stages so It's not one big task but rather many small tasks you can better manage.
