First there a many ways for designing a successful website (a website from scratch to finish), but it depends on what you know in website designing and which programming language/skills you have. if none, then start with the basis here on SL, if successful, you can learn from other SL users codes (plz don't copy and claim it is yours) and start building projects from ideas after understanding the syntax involved.
