Mentors and Guides. Is it a thing?

So I have been learning to code for awhile and the deeper I got, the more forks I find in the rabbit hole. It is just so much to learn and understand that I'm basically just here, half depressed, with my mind fried, wondering where do I even go from here. I was wondering if there is such a thing as mentoring and the like in the IT field because where I am now I feel so lost I think I could really use it.

@Borel T. HTML, CSS, JavaScript is the trio you should know no matter what. But from there, it can get hazy. There are a lot of 'flavor of the month' JavaScript frameworks and backends. Like React and Node.js . Just look for news on what's popular if your goal is to be hired. Else, pick one you like. Still, learn the trio, and whatever framework is wanted, and you'll land a job. Maybe learn PHP too, as much as every programmer hates it, most of the web uses it. After you learn, make a site as a portfolio to show off to employers. If no one wants you for some reason, you could easily freelance sites for businesses that don't have them.

Well, I am trying to become a full stack web developer or at least a Front End Web Developer (though it isn't my end goal as a programmer) and I was wondering what languages, skills, and methodologies I need to learn to do this and hopefully be good enough to get a job in it.

@Ahri Fox Thanks a bunch. Hopefully, I can have an idea about the frameworks needed as I try to enter the job market but I am currently working on JS, CSS, and HTML. I will also dive into PHP as soon as possible. Thanks again, and if you have any info on the newest and most job worthy frameworks just let me know..shoot me an email @ simpsonutx@gmail.com
