Which one do you prefer in web programming? Php or Java

Question

I would rather to know which one is more easy to handle, refact and edit? wich one is more compatible to databases(if any differents would be)? which one is more interoperable? which one is faster?
I appreciate any reasons you may comment that could proof your answers. tnx every one.

I tried Java with Spring and Hibernate frameworks and PHP with Symfony framework. Now I can say that PHP is easier and faster than Java. Java requires compilation, so it takes some time, especially in big projects. With PHP the development process is faster and more convenient.

Start with JS or else you'll be almost in trap

I think php is more convenient for web development.java is for big project and time long time to Master it
