Employable?
not sure how well this app works if the top guy in the United States still doesnt have a job.

a self teaching person, for example, the kind of guy who would have googled the word 'autodidactic' :p . I for example, am lazy so I rely on the collage, that app and some online courses. so i am not autodidactic. hence unemployed. but i have a friend who wrote a client-server android app. which made an employer overlook his low grades.

Absolutely, but as i already wrote Sololearn teaches you the basics of each language, i think you are mature enough to understand that be professional with the skills of a beginner might be ridiculous.
After Sololearn, keep up your learning, there are many things not covered in the courses.
Good luck!

This application teach you basics of code.
Think what you want to do, if programming is the answer, check the course related to your interests. ;)

Your second declaration is true. :3
I don't know what are the knowledges of the first player in your country, but the rank does not mean so much, i'm first in Italy and i have many things to learn yet (i mean, out of here..)

yea I already understand that but there may be many who come here hoping to learn not simply because they want to but also because they may want a saught after skill for employment.

the C++ challenges are pretty much similar to the C++ riddles that are being asked on job interviews(at least part of them), so it might be useful. of course it doesn't substitute more serious learning. but it's nice to learn something new in the spare time. I don't know about the first guy in USA, I've downloaded the app last week and i am number 1 in Israel LOL.

of course a degree or some kind of a diploma are necessary. a portfolio also worked for some people i know. especially if it's relevant to the employer. but it requires being autodidactic beyond needing an interactive app for learning.

so you would consider the person who is 1st place in this app to be a beginner or does this app not teach anything higher than beginner level coding?

Donovan! I think one should focus on challenges and coding with various discussions to be most employable. In depth and continued learning will make an individual employable.

grats sir. keep up the good work. I think maybe the number one guy may have the skills for programming but maybe not the skills needed to be desirable in a work environment. basically soft skills maybe but I am a bit unsure what the problem could be. maybe its because he lacks other things like a degree or actual work experience or a portfolio to show off, who knows.

The number one guy in america apparently does a crap ton of challenges already, not sure about the coding through discussions part. I'm just saying the prospects do not look good for gaining employment. After using the site for a bit however it seems the focus isn't to help people get a job but rather teach them coding and they do whatever they want with it after that which is completely fine. I was just thinking though that the top guy stating he is unemployed still could make people a bit worried about how well the skills are taught though.

could you explain autodidactic for me?
