What do you do when you hit a learning wall?

when a subject becomes too difficult to learn or when you feel you are stuck or when you dont feel like practising that day. what are some rituals or things you do in order to overcome these obstacles

Relax. :) I find that when I step back and rest properly, I can walk back into it with the energy I need and not feel the "funk." As well, rarely do I focus on just one thing, so I switch up what I'm doing when I need to. So if you're burnt out on C#, go work on PHP. You get the idea. I work on multiple projects between my personal life and professional life, so when you're tired of learning, go put what you learned to use! I learn the most from trial & error, and the many hair pulling hours of debugging over the years. :D As Jordan mentioned, I'm also a game developer. I'm able to do 3D modeling and animation also, so when I need a break from programming, I'll work on that stuff instead.

I do alot of game development and I enjoy many different parts of it. If I get tired of programming I'll start modeling or make some textures. Usually any problems I come across can be solved by just taking a break, sometimes it takes to the next day. If you don't have that maybe get a game that you can play for a bit so that you can still get that break. As far as being stuck in learning I like to challenge myself like make "blabla" in 1 week. Those usually end up teaching me alot more than I expected.

Take a small break. Think about it throughout my day. I'll come back and attempt again.

When you hit a learning wall, take a step back, reassess, and try a different approach, such as changing resources, practicing differently, seeking help, or breaking down complex topics into smaller chunks. Remember to stay patient, persistent, and positive, and don't be afraid to celebrate small wins along the way to keep yourself motivated and moving forward.
