I tried Mac, Windows and Linux and this is what I think.
Windows is the cheap version of those who are not interested in computer science.
Mac is the expensive version of those who are not interested in computer science, plus it is for those who work on images, videos, ...
Linux is for us, the programmers, the one interested in computer science.
Of course this is a general opinion, there are exceptions.

Before switching to Linux I never knew what true freedom was.
So, hands down 'Linux'.
Long live Linus Torvalds :D

Never tried Mac. Always used Windows, but recently switched to Linux Ubuntu. So far it seems very nice, I prefer it more than Windows because you are free to do anything with no restrictions. I also like learning how to use the terminal to do all the work

Linux...definitely! I'm long ubuntu user and switched to elementary when released. And have been using elementary since, currently on Loki. It's solid, stable, butter smooth and above all aesthetic minimalistic pantheon desktop. Linux > Mac > Windows in decreasing order...👍

I used linux ubuntu for a long time. when they start using Unity as window manager i switch to Linux Mint and is an hand on the wheel. Fast and stable, u can use it on Old Machines... So, Window$ go to where is suposed to be >> Virtual Machine. I do all the work on Linux and in so many years i have no problems.

I have not used Windows on my home PC for about twenty years now. Except for a couple of years when I used Mac I have always used Debian GNU Linux.
In terms of my use, I found Linux easiest and Windows most painful to use. When it comes to dependency management for packages, Debian is simply light years ahead of the rest. And I get the full power of GNU tools on the terminal freely.
Mac being a Unix, is still manageable. After a while it gets too much and chases me back to Debian.
Windows is just getting a bash shell. I have no patience in waiting for it to get full suite of GNU tools.
Also, I'm big on the licenses. Debian license is most friendly to my personal beliefs and philosophies.
The other two are at the other pole from Debian.

Linux :D I had Win XP for quite a while, and after it reached its End of Life, I chose to switch to linux as I had a laptop with small storage space and hated the privacy options of Win 10. Never regretted, sure it doesn't necessarily work out-of-the-box, sure sometimes something doesn't work and you spend a week trying to solve it, but after all, it just adds to the fun...

Had this question been asked on "decent" forums, people usually start to ask the mod to drop the question as being non-constructive, and may start "flame" amongst members due to difference in personal taste or preference.
