How do you become a great programmer?

I want to be an expert.

I once have asked this question from my mentor who have learned Python, JS, HTML, CSS, etc. He said to me that first of all I need to learn programming languages that may help me to understand the web-site creation process (HTML, CSS, JS). Then he said that I better learn OOP languages, such as Java, C++, etc. And finally, when I will be familiar with all of those syntax, he said that I should choose one or two languages that I like and that I want to master. Lots of practice in these languages will lead you to your goal of becoming a good programmer. Good luck!

Why do you want to be a great programmer? Aim higher, try to be a software engineer or someone that plans software and coordinate a team of developers.

Make many programs...
Many programs on the present is equal a good programmer on the future..

Kidnap an expert programmer and keep them locked in your basement. Have them write the code and you can just put your name on it. :) Takes a lot less time.
