What to do after HTML and CSS?

Question

Is it necessary to learn entire set of tags from HTML and CSS as given in w3schools? Can we directly jump on any other web language? I'm beginner in Web and feeling so uncomfortable to read each and every tag and keep in mind.
what should my next language after doing Basics of HTML and CSS?
Any course link will be appreciated. Thanks in advance...
